Joseph Conrad- totality of Darkness After reading the story Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad I found that it was inspired by Josephs journey to the congou River. When I was reading this all of a sudden story I noticed there be devil narrators, one of which is sightly an unknown passenger on the charge with the different narrator Marlow. Marlow is the captain of the venture that is sailing to the congo River. I think this story was sometime between the easy 1800s. I believe Marlow uses the word Darkness to relate to the fight between light and glum. Darkness being a dark identifys in life, according to some the events that took place on the ship and some experiences he discusses in the story. He uses imagery in his story to describe what the mood is of the story. As I was attempting to image all of the details that Marlow was saying and stories he was telling on the ship. Marlow seems to be a hero, he is tough, honest, an independent thinker, a undefendable man., but yet he is broken because of his past and, it seems that he feels like the world has defeated him. Marlow exposes the dark side of the Belgian colonization while at the same time exploring the trine levels of tincture that he encounters.

He begins giving stories of the darkness of the Congo wilderness, the darkness of the Belgians and their cruel treatment of the African natives, and the unfathomable darkness within every human being for being just simply evil. He talks about how all of the other white men that work at the company are pretty much all white men who are either very shallow or untrustworthy. Marlow also discusses how London, the largest, close to popular and wealthiest city in the world, was a dark place in the Roman times. I believe he was essay to make sense of the murders and how badly people were treated if they were silly or didnt have as much silver as the other people did who were considered the wealthier people there in London.
