The first motion picturegraph I am red ink to discuss is a photograph by Dorothea Lange (1895-1965). The photograph is called city Transition and was taken in 1942. It shows a provide in Oakland, California.
The visual impact that stands out the most in this photo is the fill of the frame, which in this case is a sign in front of the house. The sign makes the viewer sign on the better- brassing house rather than what is on the sign. I also standardized how the photographer included the fence in front of the house to lead the eye across the photograph.
From the sign you keister severalize that the house was used as some kind of simple machine selling business headquarters. Also, the word used makes me look that what you can see inside the frame was what the house used to look like, solely now it has changed to an even doubleger house.
I take that the purpose of this photo is to make emphasise the idea if the institution changing quickly. The photo seems very dynamic, due to the distorted report card; the position of the sign makes my eyes a bit confused, but I think Lange intended this effect, because it leads your eye straight onto the house.
other thing that the sign brings to my mind is the actual position of it. If you concentrate your view on the area of the house near the sign, it real seems as if you where looking at some kind of big neon light in a big American city, like New York, which emphasises the transition.
In terms of creativity, I think the sign tells us a lot. I think the number 2703 on the sign is representing the far future (year 2703).
