Still I Rise by Maya Angelou

plurality ar often demoralized beca engross they are afraid of universe judged. Maya Angelou was not one of them. Angelou was embossed during a period of racial discrimination. Although she faced difficult obstacles in life, desire universe raped, she did nt not give up. In 1978, Maya Angelou wrote a poem called Still I stick out. I decided to dissect this poem because in this save year, her poem is still relevant. Angelous use of a confident way and literary plaits help get hold of themes of confidence, dexterity, and hope.\nStill I Rise is more or less racial and inner discrimination. Angelou uses words resembling sassiness (5) and enamoredness (25). From this, the audience can bring to an end that the author is speaking specifically of the discrimination amongst African American women. Angelou talks about how she impart continue to fount no subject field how much she is talked about or looked at wrong.\nThe general mood of the poem is confident. When Angelou compares how she impart always rise up like the laze and sun, she is being assertive. Just like moons and like suns, / With the certainty of tides, / Just like hopes springing high, / Still Ill rise (9-12). The moon and sun comes out every day, regardless of whats going on. Angelou is inferring that theres zilch anyone can do or say that will harbour her down.\nOne literary device Angelou uses is a simile. She uses this device to generate that women have the confidence and specialization to deal with their problems and still hang on strong. Does my sassiness upset you? / Why are you beset with gloom? / Cause I walk like Ive got oil colour wells / Pumping in my funding room (5-8). No matter how much someone belittles a woman, she will still be able to walk around with pride as if she were wealthy.\nAngelou too uses metaphors to enforce the theme of strength in her poem.
