Child development refers to the biological and psychological and emotional changes that take place in human beings between birth and the end of adolescence, as the individual progresses from dependency to increasing autonomy. Urie Brofenbrenner
Urie Brofenbrenner was born on April 29, 1917 in Moscow, Russia (Lang, 2006) . Uries family moved to the United States when he was half dozen years old. He attended high school at Haverstraw High.



He continued to college at Cornell University from which he completed a double major in psychology and music. Brofenbrenner went to Harvard for his graudate degree in developmental psychology. He got his Ph.D in the same field. In his academic work, Brofenbrenner pursued three mutually reinforcing themes: Developing theory and fit research designs to advance the field of developmental psychology; displace out the implications and applications of developmental theory and research for policy and work; and communicating the findings of developmental research to students, the general public, and to decision-makers both in the private and public sector.
